Section A-Top Stories

Big Showdown In Big Trip
http://www.horseracegame.com/community/races/36224
Quick Question: Who is the last horse to defeat the great Lord Outstanding? If you answered Slazenger from the sundown barn (a horse not even on the top 100 list) then you would be correct. That fateful day was all the way back in late May when Slazenger won the G1-Charles Barkley Derby as part of the Make It Here Tournament. It was Slazenger’s second win over Lord Outstanding in two tries and he won by a combined 3 lengths. Unfortunately for Slazenger and sundown, the rest of the tournament did not pan out as it began. In the third meeting between the two in the prelims, Lord Outstanding got revenge with a 5 ¾ win over Slazenger. Then in the final, Lord Outstanding returned to complete dominance with a 10L margin between her and the second place horse. The second place horse was not Slazenger as he toiled to fifth in the much anticipated final meeting. Those two horses have gone in separate ways since that race. Lord Outstanding has extended her winning streak from 2 to 25, while Slazenger has been tied to the sidelines since. However, Monday marks the return of Slazenger but he will not get an easy race back. Waiting for him in the starting gate of the G1-Buckpasser Cup is none other than bhdcwt1’s Probably Late. Probably Late’s career has been a wild ride. It’s either win or bust for this son of Seabiscuit as he has a record of 42-30-0-2, but when it comes to tournament finals, he is as consistent as can be with 7 wins in 8 tries. These two will meet Monday night at 20:30 server time, but don’t mistake this tournament for a two horse showdown. Another rising stud is taking part in this one. Nojoke268’s Gio Speed takes a step up in class after three tournament wins at the age of two. With a record of 15-10-2-1 and upwards of 1.5Mill in earnings, Gio Speed could be the next great star of HRF. Her Big Trip debut will most likely come next Saturday.

General’s Picks For This One:
1. Probably Late
2. Slazenger
3. Gio Speed

Skill Aplenty In Peace Play
http://www.horseracegame.com/community/trainer-tournament/307689/peace-p...
Some really great tournaments are on the horizon, but none might have a better overall field than the Peace Play Tournament that pits So Let It Be Done against Serena Williams as the marquee matchup but many others have an opportunity to make a name for themselves. The first of those outsider challengers could be the dangerous Towne Belles from the barn of sleepers. This son of Native Dancer has three tournament wins in three tries, but that was at two. Now, he will bring his 15-7-1-3 record and 1.3Mill in earnings to face some of the best HRF has to offer. Also, Town Belles will experience a minor surface change as he shifts gears from dirt to sand. Another tough one will be Aaa Scouse from the topscouse barn who is searching for her first tournament win, but has proven to be tough with three seconds in finals. With a record of 29-7-8-5 and more than 2.5Mill in earnings this daughter of Conquistador Cielo will be no walkover. As for the two stars, their goals in the tournament might be slightly different based on the requirement they need to meet in order to get into the prestigious breeding shed. As for Serena Williams she has met the 4 tournament win requirement, but must get almost 1.7Mill more in earnings to be eligible. So Let It Be Done is in the opposite situation because she has the earnings but only has 1 of the 4 needed tournament wins. Both horses have had a lot of success on sand, but the fact remains that Serena Williams has never lost a final on sand and So Let It Be Done has never won a final on sand.

General’s Picks:
1. Serena Williams
2. Town Belles
3. So Let It Be Done

Forever Silent Returns In Gong Show Against an Old Rival
http://www.horseracegame.com/community/races/35613
Forever Silent from the dragonfeather barn is the odds-on choice to win her return tournament, but she does cause memories of the past to come back as she will face her old rival 8yr old Royal Danish. The Love To Run Tournament was of high quality and it included both of these horses along with Colorful Package, Historian, and Life Line. In the end, it was Colorful Package who got the best of the others with Royal Danish 4th and Forever Silent 5th in the final. Since then, Forever Silent has had the better career, one that places her in the top 30 in earnings while Royal Danish has twice as many starts and is still muddled down on the earnings list in the 60’s. It should be an exciting rivalry renewed.

General’s Picks:
1. Forever Silent
2. Fireman Speed
3. Special Kay

Four Seamer Eclipses Six Million In Earnings
http://www.horseracegame.com/community/user/42427/horse_pro/19073
A horse that has run in eight Blue Restricted Tournaments and lost five of them and is currently running in one is on pace to make the breeding shed. All Four Seamer out of the bhdcwt1 barn needs to do is get 44 more votes. In a real Cinderella story, a confirmed 115BSR is well on his way to the breeding shed. A horse with a pedestrian record of 77-35-16-11 (45% win, 80% itm) and an even more pedestrian record in Blue Restricted Tournaments, 31-16-5-3 (51% win, 77% itm) is very likely going to put her name in the same shed as the greats of HRF and horse racing. How else should I conclude this story than by saying-Vote for Four Seamer.

Our 2011 bonus

Nice to have you back again, General. You're reporting is top of the line and could easily get you a reporters job at the Daily Racing Form, or other top racing magazine someday. Not kidding.
You scan the important facts and never miss a thing. Thanks for mentioning the return of, Forever Silent on Tuesday the 11th. I think she's up to grabbing her fourth and crucial tournament win. One that will get her to the sheds, in my opinion. Sheri's opinion too.
Forever takes long breaks and has been away for close to 3 months. She's the one to beat, however. My Royal Danish is eight now and his career is winding down. I know he's outclassed with his 113 rating. Used to be 128 when we first were competing against each other.
I entered against, Forever Silent (My all time favorite horse ) as a way to honor her, run alongside her once again and to say our goodbyes and basically, to see us together again. Sheri knows that I'll be rooting for, Forever. And I know that Sheri will be rooting for, Royal. It's amazing to me, that Royal Danish is still on the top 100 list, with such a decline in performances, with the glitch that lowered his number. I truly believe he was shed material before the glitch. I'll always believe that.
