Lord Outstanding and Slazenger Set To Battle

The race is on. The final chapter of the rivalry between Slazenger and 2009 HRF Horse of the Year Lord Outstanding is set to conclude Monday night at 6pm Eastern when they battle it out in the Make It Here Final. Slazenger has proved to be the biggest thorn in Lord Outstanding’s side on her way to the breeding shed and has forced Lord Outstanding to go one more tournament before she will be eligible for the barn. However, Lord Outstanding still has an opportunity to get the last laugh tomorrow night
The weights and odds have been set for the final by retired handicapper suncity, who was recently fired after getting to many negative votes (32 negative to 20 positive). He gave a slight edge to Slazenger who is the ML favorite at 5-2 with Lord Outstanding second choice at odds of 4-1. Lord Outstanding also gets a very slight weight break of one pound as she will carry 125 and Slazenger will don 126.
Although the only trainer horse to beat Lord Outstanding or Slazenger is the other, the fact remains that with handicapped weights anyone can jump up and take it. For example, Brilliant Design gets 9lbs from favorite Slazenger and has only finished out of the money once in the tournament. She even finished only three lengths behind the favorite Slazenger in the G1-Man O War, so she might be a worthwhile longshot.

Mdm Mister Pink Looks To Become A Member

Mdm Mister Pink has been knocking at the door his entire career. He has never been considered as one of the game’s greats, but that all could change tonight with a win in the G1-Foolish Pleasure. With that win, the four-year old son of champion sire Dr. Fager can become the fifth member of the $4Mill earnings club. He would join Lord Outstanding, Wells Fargo, Misty Images, and Doc Beauty as the only trainer game horses to eclipse that mark. His race tonight, however, will not be simply a walkover. In fact, positioned right to his outside in post 2 is a fellow three-millionaire in Death Row and also in the field is Sea Quest, the horse that defeated Mdm Mister Pink back on May 28th, but that day there was severe traffic troubles for Mdm Mister Pink and his trainer danielcakes is looking for a different outcome tonight.

Lucky Lucy, Voodoo Fever Go At It Again

June 1st was the scene of Voodoo Fever’s 2.5L destruction of the G2-Arnold Schwarzenegger. Voodoo Fever ran a 133SR and posted one of the fastest times in sand history, while Lucky Lucy staggered home a disappointing fourth over five lengths back. ‘Lucy’s’ trainer rlparlett hopes that the roles are reversed tonight in the G2-Orlando Bloom. Also in the race is one of the top NN horses in the game Clay Shoting, who came home third in the previous race. However, Clay Shoting is known more for sprinting and this particular race is 7.5f, so it will be interesting to see if he can hold on late in the long Nad Al Sheba stretch.

Forever Silent Impresses in Comeback Race

It was all the way back on February 19th the last time we saw Forever Silent grace the finish line first, but now she is back and back with a vengeance. Forever Silent turned in one of her most impressive races to date in the G2-Charles Whittingham, as she destroyed an extremely over-matched field by 4.5L. The extremely impressive three-year old filly posted a time of 1:26.29 for 7.5f earning her a 128SR. She will go for three million in earnings tomorrow night in the G2-Nearctic against a much tougher field that includes both redterror’s millionaire Its Mister Cielo and richardmacias’ Genuine Fool. The race also showcases modgraphix’s Indy Thunder, who despite not having won a race, has been very impressive in defeat especially in the G2-Pete Rose.

Billie Jean, Run River Run Both Struggling

4-0-1-0 is the combined record for the two sloppers extraordinaire in a slop tournament that would at first glance look to suit their liking. However, Billie Jean has yet to fire and win, while Run River Run has yet to hit the board in this tournament. They both will have one more chance to prove their still the horses that they once were. That race will be the G1-Roy Campanella on the 10th. Billie Jean needs a good performance for her pride, while Run River Run needs at least a third to even get in the final.
