When playing our game, knowing and understanding horse racing definitely is a plus, but at the end of the day, it's just understanding how our game works and knowing where to find all the hints and secrets and what tactics can be utilized to give you an advantage that is even more important. Though our game emulates horse racing to a certain degree, it does, in its own way, have plenty of unique characteristics that take time to master. For example, knowing about horse racing doesn't really help you with hand-eye coordination when playing as a jockey. Nor does it help you in understanding how our virtual horses perform differently from inside your game to the time they actually race against other players. We've always said that the best players in our game will have a balanced knowledge of both virtual and real horse racing. That knowledge will benefit them against those players who have focused on one aspect or the other.
Mastering the game comes from research and constant practice. Learning about horse racing is something you either know or can learn from books, articles and by just asking questions in the community. There are many great books on horse racing, and if you want to brush up on that side of the game, make sure the book you get covers the sport with a broad stroke. You don't want to focus on books that specialize just on betting or training or even breeding. You want to focus on books that give you a much broader understanding of horse racing in general. As you continue to play the game, your knowledge of horse racing in itself will strengthen. That aded information from acting and interacting with other game players will increase your overall knowledge of the sport of racing and at the same time strengthen your game skills.
There is no way to master this game in a matter of days, weeks or even a few months. Patience plus trial and error and a lot of research with a general understanding of horse racing puts you on the right track to succcess and will get your name on the community leader boards and, of course, a lot of game points in your pocket. Have fun racing!
