The excitement of this year's Preakness Stakes is understandably thanks to the talented daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, Rachel Alexandra. The talented daughter is chasing the title of the first filly to win the Preakness since Nellie Morse in 1924. Calvin Borel, who rode Rachel Alexandra to victory in the Kentucky Oaks and Mine That Bird to win the Kentucky Derby the following day, has decided to ride the filly for the Preakness Stakes. It is believed to be the first time a jockey has opted off the Derby winner to ride a different horse in the Preakness. The Kentucky Oaks winner drew post 13 for the race and was installed as the 8-5 morning-line favorite.
