I know we're supposed to be a community that revolves around a fast-action game. Yes, I know that. We're supposed to talk about thoroughbred racing. I know that, too. I also know that in our free horsegame it's supposed to be all about virtual racing and player interaction while they compete for prizes. But, every once in a while you find something that's just so cool, you want to share it with all your racing community members. Through the funny horse video below (and maybe it's just not that funny - maybe it proves my point from the other day that horses are very intelligent animals - but, we'll get back to that in a minute), you're about to meet Patches, the amazing miracle white horse.
When I first saw this video, I said how can a horse do this? I believe this is a combination of great training by patient owners who have a love for the horse and found a way to communicate with him like horse whisperers do. But, I also believe that this particular animal has a level of intelligence that you and I would never fathom or believe a horse can have. Here's a horse that picks up the phone when it rings (well, that's no big deal, I'm sure he can be trained for that), go gets beer from the refrigerator and knows which bottles to get, but also does things like lay down, sleeps in a bed with the covers over him, and the most amazing feat is that he actually gets into a car (it's a convertible, don't worry) and will ride all over town with his owners.
Again, I know training has a lot to do with what Patches can accomplish, but at the same time, there's got to be a tremendous trust and bond between owner and horse and the will to want to learn on the animal's part to pull this off. Yes, I've watched some amazing feats accomplished by all types of animals - dogs, cats, tigers - and every time I see these things, I say to myself that we're underestimating their intelligence and the loyalty they have for us. When I saw this amazing video, I said I have to share this with our members. So, with no further adieu, my fellow racing fans, I am proud to present to you - Patches, the amazing miracle white horse.

P.S. If you haven't voted on your favorite horse color in our most recent poll, you might want to rethink your vote because Patches is, again, all white. That poll, for some reason, isn't getting the number of votes I thought it would tell.
