Racing and My World of Opportunities on and off the track

Racing and My World of Opportunities on and off the track

Hello again, horse racing fans. Today I’d like to talk to you a bit about some of the things I’ve gotten to do as an extension of my horse racing career – some things that actually take place off the track, but serve to put attention back onto horse racing. Obviously, I absolutely love jockeying racehorses. And my career so far has been great. Thanks to horse racing, I have had so many great opportunities.

One of my hobbies off the track is fashion. I am totally into fashion, so when I’ve been presented with the opportunity to blend my love for fashion with my love for horse racing, I have jumped at the chance. I actually have done some modeling (mostly related to horse racing) for People Magazine and Vogue. The modeling has been fun. The schedule can sometimes be a challenge, particularly since they often want me to travel in the midst of an already hectic schedule as a jockey, but I have had a lot of fun doing modeling projects like that. I also just recently got a sponsorship with a make-up company named Mistura, which is also really exciting.

Another really cool project I’m involved with right now is as a participant in a reality television show on Animal Planet. Essentially, the show is documenting real life at the racetrack. They are taking five jockeys, including myself and fellow Horse Racing Fantasy contributors Joe Talamo and Aaron Gryder, and following our everyday lives. That means that they are going to be documenting each of us as we get up, go to work, train, work out – the works. It’s so great, because all of the trainers and owners are going to be collaborating it as well. We all are really excited to cast a favorable light on the sport of horse racing – especially after some of the negative publicity that the sport has received recently. So starting on September 21, which is opening day, the show will follow the five of us in our daily lives all the way through the Breeders’ Cup. That means the show will not only expose viewers to the everyday lives of us jockeys, it will also capture all of the drama and intrigue leading up to the Breeders’ Cup. I’m not yet sure when it will air, but you can be sure that when I do, you guys will know it! In the meantime, hope you are all having fun and continuing to improve in your own online horse games and tournaments!

AWESOME!

That's so cool! I think it would be neat to be able to be a jockey AND a model for horse stuff! I can't wait for the show to come out on Animal Planet. You can bet I'll be watching it every time! Or, if I have other things going, then I'll definitley tape it. I appreciate and love all your blogs. Keep up the good work, have fun, and be safe!

That's wonderful

Oh, Chantal, I'm so excited. I know my girlfriend will be to. I'll tell her. I wasn't aware of this. Thank you for sharing. Can't wait. We're usually able to watch the various shows that we're interested in, but we also do a lot of taping here as well. Continued good luck in your racing career.
