The Factor and defending champion Smiling Tiger headline a field of nine for the seven furlong $250,000 Triple Bend Handicap Saturday at Hollywood Park. The Factor is four for four at seven furlongs in his career although he comes off a sixth place finish in the Dubai Golden Shaheen three months ago.
He has won Grade 1's at seven furlongs on both natural dirt and cushion track, which he will be running over today. Smiling Tiger is the defending champ having earned a career best 112 Beyer over this surface in winning it last year. Smiling Tiger is also a perfect three for three over the cushion track. Comma to the Top is looking for his first graded win since the 2010 Cash Call Futurity as a 2-year-old in December 2010. Camp Victory, third in the Los Angeles Handicap May 28, will be seeking his first victory in three tries as a 5-year-old. He has placed second behind both The Factor and Smiling Tiger under similar conditions. Mobilized returns to Cushion Track after finishing fifth in the American Handicap on turf May 26. Mobilized was impressive in winning the Tiznow Stakes for California-breds by 7 ¼ lengths in his last start over the Hollywood cushion track. Tres Borrachos will be going for his fourth win over the Cushion Track, but will shorten up in distance after racing in mostly route races last year. Italian Rules drew the far outside post and scored an impressive front-running victory in an optional claimer May 24 over the track and has won five of his last seven races. Centralinteligence and Don Tito complete the lineup.
