2012 Shoemaker Mile at Hollywood Park Rounds Out Racing Weekend Agenda for VIPs

Saturday's Grade I $300,000 Shoemaker Mile at Hollywood Park features a cast of eight runners headed by Mr. Commons who won the Grade 1 Frank Kilroe Mile at Santa Anita earlier this year. He most recently finished second in the Grade 2 American Handicap, 1/2 length ahead of Liberian Freighter who will also contest this race. Corporate Jungle is coming off a nice three-race winning streak including the Grade 3 Appleton at Gulfstream two races back - this will be his first Grade 1 stakes competition. Hudson Landing and Jeronimo both finished first and second, respectively, in the Grade 3 San Francisco Mile up at Golden Gate Fields. Jeronimo generally comes from well off the pace and makes one big late run. Expect Little Mike to be right on the lead. He most recently wired the field in the Grade 1 Turf Classic at Churchill on Derby day. Suggestive Boy is coming from Argentina where he has won three straight Grade 1's, but how well that translates into American racing remains to be seen. Dubai You X Y Z and Hudson Landing round out the field.
