The $250,000 Coaching Club American Oaks on Saturday is a Grade 1 race for 3-year-old fillies and features the winner of the Grade 1 Mother Goose, Devil May Care. In that race, she defeated Connie and Michael and Biofuel, who finished second and third in that race, respectively, and has a chance to turn the tables this time. Rick Dutrow sends out Acting Happy who won the Black Eyed Susan Stakes back in May, but hasn't raced since. Bahama Bound draws the rail and most recntly won a first level allowance race and now tries to capture her first Grade 1 race. Undefeated Lisas Booby Trap is undefeated in three starts, all of which she has won in gate-to-wire fashion, winning by average margins of 12 lengths. However, her speed figures are low compared to some of the higher ranked horses here. Bahama Bound and Seeking the Title will attempt to rally from off the pace. Absinthe Minded completes the lineup.
More running with the ladies, VIPs! This one should be great with a fairly evenly-matched field vying for the victory slot in the Coaching Club American Oaks. Can Devil May Care pull off the expected win?
