Baffert sends out the exciting Tiz Chrome as well as Macias in the Grade 2, $150,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes Saturday at Santa Anita. Tiz Chrome appears likely to be the favorite based on his local debut in the restricted Stuka Stakes, going six furlongs at Hollywood Park in December. Another possible for the favorite label is American Lion, whose sire, former Horse of the Year Tiznow is the same as Tiz Chrome. American Lion won the Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue Stakes in December. Domonation was beaten 4 lengths by Tiz Chrome two races back and comes off of a third in the San Rafael Stakes. Caracortado is unbeaten in four starts and emerged victorious in his first stakes race on December 26 in the California Breeders’ Champion Stakes at 1 1/16 miles. Macias, Baffert's other runner, was fourth in the Prevue, but has won three of his other four starts. Dave in Dixie was a powerful debut winner at Del Mar, then headed straight into the Norfolk Stakes and ran a deceptively good race. He hasn't raced since then.
