We all love fantasy football and how much fun it can be so our race builder( being such a big fan of fantasy sports)has, once again, topped his previous effort and is presenting a truly exciting and intriguing race for our VIPs this week. He has taken all of the actual contenders in the 2008 Breeders' Cup Classic and put them together in a 1-mile race to see how they might fare against each other in this slightly shorter distance. This is like taking last years Super Bowl contenders and having some of the players switch teams.

That's right - all the Classic contenders: Duke of Marmalade, Henrythenavigator, Go Between, Curlin, Casino Drive, Raven's Pass, Student Council, Fairbanks, Champs Elysees, Tiago and Colonel John. All together again to battle out the finishes for a 1-mile race. Will Curlin be able to dominate the field in this shorter distance? He tired late in the 2008 Classic and finished a disappointing fourth, but perhaps this shorter distance is all that is needed to give him the edge this time. Although that may not be the case inasmuch as Raven's Pass, the European challenger who won the 2008 Breeders' Cup Classic, had never run a race longer than a mile prior to the Classic, so his comfort zone is with that distance. And, his fellow European, Henrythenavigator, who placed second in the Classic, is another contender used to this mile distance. You can bet that the rest of the field will put out challenging efforts, as well, especially Tiago (who finished third in the 2008 Classic in front of Curlin), Duke of Marmalade (the third European contender in the Classic) and Colonel John along with the rest of the field.

This will be an absolutely fascinating race to watch, bet or jockey. Imagine being able to ride each one of these fabulous champion thoroughbreds in this amazing challenge race. This definitely will provide a ton of excitement and energy to liven up our VIPs' weekend!I love this concept and we plan to do it often to compare the results. Maybe it's because we here are big sports fans(we love fantasy sports ) and maybe we love seeing how this will change the out come . This is what the sport of racing is all about . The what if situations !!!!!!
