Life Is Sweet will likely be the favorite in Saturday's $150,000 San Gorgonio Handicap at Santa Anita after coming off of an upset win in the Breeder's Cup Ladies Classic, but she has never won a turf race at the stakes level. Formidable rivals, Diamondrella, who has two Grade 1 turf wins on her resume, as well as Treat Gently, who has raced respectably against the top European turf females will give Life Is Sweet a definite battle. Lavender Sky finished second in this race in 2008 but her recent form seems to have declined, though she has a top trainer in Julio Canani in her corner. Cat By the Tale has finished third in her last two Grade 2 turf attempts. Longshots will be Century Park, Rosa Grace and Teamgeist, who finished behind Cat by the Tale in the G2 Las Palmas. Finishing the field is Czecher's, who appears hopelessly outmatched.
