Are You Up To The Challenge?
The Challenge Buddy Program is a fun way to compete with your fellow community members in a head-to-head competition tied to the Breeders’ Cup final races of our general trainer tournaments. It doesn’t matter if you have a horse participating in this event or not. It simply comes down to whether you are better at identifying key contenders in the Breeders’ Cup final races than your fellow community members. If you are, watch the community points roll in!
The Challenge Buddy Program is simple. You can either go to the Race Detail page for the Breeders’ Cup final race of any general trainer tournament after the post positions have been drawn and click on the Challenge Buddy link, or you can go to the Challenge Buddy Program Main Page in the community and choose from the available Breeders’ Cup final races that are eligible for this program. Once you find the race you’re interested in, review the contenders and either create a challenge or accept one that has already been created by another player. Either way, the Challenge Buddy Program is a head-to-head competition.
If you’re creating a challenge, you will simply choose the horse you desire, whether you have a horse in the race or not, and if you do have a horse in the race, you do not have to choose your own horse. Then simply select the number of community points you want to risk from the dropdown menu and click on the Create A Challenge tab. It’s important to note that if you’re one of those players who wants to watch the race before seeing the results do not worry . The race will be delivered right to your game .
There is no advantage in creating a new challenge or accepting a challenge that has already been created. It simply comes down to which horse you believe will finish in front of the other, and are you comfortable with the number of community points the challenger has posted.
If you want to accept a challenge, simply review the list of available challenges that are open and click the Accept Challenge link. If the Accept Challenge is not displayed, then that particular challenge is not available and has already been accepted by another player. After accepting a challenge, a confirmation notice will be sent to you that the challenge is ‘on’.
You can create and accept as many challenges as you want on as many different horses as you want for as many different Breeders’ Cup final races that are available.
You are allowed to create only one challenge at a time with the same horse in the same Breeders’ Cup final race. Until that challenge is accepted, you will not be able to create another challenge with that same horse. This doesn’t stop you from creating other challenges with other horses in the same race or accepting challenges already created by other players.
When you either create or accept a challenge, the required community points will be immediately deducted from your account. At the end of the race, the winner of the challenge will be credited with 100% of his own initial points along with 70% of the community points won from the other player. This will be visible in your point transaction history found on your player profile page.
You can create and accept challenges up to one hour before the Breeders’ Cup final race is run.
The winner of the challenge is determined simply by which horse finished in front of the other. It does not matter if your horse finished 8th and your challenger’s horse finished 9th, you would win. Each Challenge Buddy race has a winner and a loser. There is never a tie.
A Few Hints
• Players who pay attention to horses’ past races will have an advantage in this program. Players who dentify horses that might have had a bad trip during their last race or simply were not classified correctly with the right racing conditions will do well in the Challenge Buddy Program.
• Try to choose horses coming from hot trainers. Trainers who have a tendency to either win or finish in the money frequently can be a better play in the Challenge Buddy Program.
• The more you know about the horses in the race and about the trainers associated with those horses, the greater your opportunity is to be successful in the Challenge Buddy Program.
• If your horse is in a Breeders’ Cup final race and you feel he has a great opportunity to win, the Challenge Buddy Program gives you a chance to increase your winnings.
• If your horse is in a Breeders’ Cup final race and you feel he has a poor chance to win, this may give you an opportunity to hedge your action by actually choosing another horse through the Challenge Buddy Program.
No matter what, the Challenge Buddy Program will add another level of fun and excitement to your game play.
