Today in Horse Racing History – June 17, 1967: Buckpasser's 15-race winning streak ended when he finished third to stablemate Poker in the Bowling Green Handicap at Aqueduct, his only attempt at turf racing. Buckpasser carried 135 pounds while Poker was assigned 112.

The $500,000 G1 Stephen Foster Handicap features a small field of six runners including the Breeders Cup Classic winner Fort Larned who ran an inexplicably bad race in the Oaklawn Handicap last out but if he bounces back is the one to beat. Ron the Greek is coming off a close third in the Charles Town Classic but did have some trouble at the start. Take Charge Indy ran the most dominant race of his life in winning the G2 Alysheba last out by six lengths. Successful Dan is coming off a win in the G3 Ben Ali at the same distance and is three for four lifetime over the Churchill downs surface. Pool Play and Golden Ticket round out the field.
